Cattanach, Ann (1806 - 25 Aug. 1883)

Cattanach - At Nasonville, Wood County, Wis., Aug. 25, 1883, Mrs. Ann McGregor Cattanach, wife of Alexander Cattanach, Sr., aged 77 years.

Mrs. Cattanach was born in Martin, Glengary County, Canada West. She had made her home at Nasonville for the last thirteen years. She was the mother of ten children - seven sons and three daughters; and her grandchildren numbered almost a score. Two sons remained with their families in Canada. The three daughters, Mrs. Rausch, Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Eastman reside at Nasonville. Three sons, John, James, and Alexander, reside also near Nasonville, while the remaining two, Peter and Duncan, are in the far West.

Mrs. Cattanach was one of the oldest members of the Presbyterian church of Nasonville. Long and faithfully did she serve the God in whom she trusted to the very least. Her funeral was largely attended from the home on Monday last - the procession being the immense length. Rev. W. T. Hendren, pastor of the Presbyterian church of Neillsville, was present to offer a few words of comfort to the afflicted family. As her former minister he testified to her faithfulness in attendance upon the worship of God’s house. This is the first break in a circle of aged people as a for shadowing of what will be witnessed again and again until all will be missed from the home and the church.
